Two New Pastoral Assignments

Glen Potts has accepted assignment to the Harriman TN – Scarborough Memor= ial Free Methodist Church as interim pastor through annual conference time. Glen & Shirley will be driving to Harriman on the weekends and staying = for their motorhome there. Glen, a conference evangelist, believes Harriman is = ripe for harvest. With the Lord having helped the church construct a beautiful n= ew and expanded worship facility (up from the ashes of the former church’= ;s burning), with new people coming, and much community interest in the church … it is a strategically important time for the ministry there. <= /o:p>

Eugene Poole has accepted assignment to the = Bowling Green KY – Fountain Squ= are Free Methodist Church. Gene, a native of Kentucky, was employed as district man= ager for Pennzoil, and later Quaker State Oil, during the first many years of his working life. In mid-life he was converted to Christ, and later called to pastoral ministry. He moved to Colorado = to enroll in the Nazarene Bible College there, and subsequently served as a pastor in two Free Methodist Churches. = Each church experienced significant growth during his respective tenures. Howeve= r, Kentucky beckons= him home! J … and he contacted me as to any openings we might have. There followed a series of events which led to this appointment. Gene will be coming with his wife, Connie; his 27 year-old daughter, Tiffany; and a lay ministry couple, Dennis and Christine Ward. Pray for the swift sale of their respective properties = so they all may soon be moved to = Bowling Green.

Several years ago a pastor friend o= f mine put me onto the Oldham Little Church Foundation. His church was small= and needed some funds for physical repairs to their building. They wrote = the foundation and were able to have significant funds for important projects on their church building. This could be an important resource for some of our churches.

You can call them to get an idea of= what they need for information from the church. I think they will send a form on= ce you have contacted them. I sent a letter, then they sent a packet. In= the letter I sent I included:
my name, the name of the church, the membership of the church (this can be = taken in two ways, actual members on the books, or worship attendance – use= your highest), the need that you have - what project do you want them to help fu= nd.

They'll send back an application form. They'll need a budget that expresses fully the cost of the proj= ect, a picture of the church building. They want the money to go towards physical improvements in church buildings.

Brief Highlights

§Wilmore KY. The Wilmore church has purchased another = 3.7 acre tract of land to the south= of us, contiguous to its present property, for $111,000.00. The church w= ill be paying cash for the purchase, incurring no further debt.

§Bradyville TN – Simmons Chapel.<= /b> Had just over 200 in attendance for their Christmas program.

§Scottsville KY – New Life. We are aware of the tactics of the enemy, but also know the victorious power of our Lord! A new family of five are attending, and anoth= er couple is just starting to attend. God is good 24,7,365!<= /p>
